About Me-Hi my name is Tylis Broaden and I’m a senior at Sports and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford, CT. In school to keep me motivated me to do my best, I joined track and field as a sprinter, hurdler, and long jumper. As long as my grades are good I can continue to run track, which I've grown to love. In school I apply pressure on myself to succeed because my dad dropped out of high school his sophomore year to get a job and help support his family and my mother dropped out of college because she believed she found her dream job. So because of my parents past education experiences I push my self to be better than them so I can provide for them and myself in the future. I have a long-term passion of helping people so that’s why for my capstone project I started a collection drive for the South Park Inn homeless shelter and I also volunteer in the shelter. As a way to give back to my community.

Mission Statement
It’s easy to say everything you want to achieve but actually getting there requires work. I plan to work towards attending a Four-year university and majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Forensics Psychology. My passion for helping others is something that has never diminished. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy and live life the way they want without anyone or anything getting in the way. I want to learn about the mind of a criminal, to find out why they make the decisions they make so when I become a Criminal profiler for the FBI I can put them away.
